Money magazine has recognized Cal State San Bernardino as one of the top 50 colleges nationwide for transfer students in its 2018-19 ranking “Best Colleges for Transfer Students.” “We are honored to be recognized as one of the leading colleges for transfer students,” said CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales. “Here at Cal State San Bernardino, we always want to ensure a smooth transition to this institution for all our students, and help them reach their academic goals.” The rankings are based on a college’s transfer student enrollment and its graduation rate for transfer students. In fall 2018, CSUSB, which was listed at No. 43, accepted 2,418 transfer students to campus, with the majority of them entering as full-time juniors. “More than one-third of freshmen will switch colleges at least once while working toward a degree,” the Money website reads. “At these 50 colleges, transfer students do as well as – and often better than – their peers on campus.” CSUSB joins 11 other California State Universities on the list. The other CSUs include CSU Channel Islands at No. 4, Cal State Long Beach at No. 5, Cal State Fullerton at No. 13, Cal State Northridge at No. 15, Cal State East Bay at No. 21, Cal Poly Pomona at No. 25, Stanislaus State at No. 26, Cal State San Marcos as No. 27, CSU Chico at No. 32, Fresno State at No. 44, and CSU Sacramento at No. 50.
