The planning committee seeks a diverse group of experienced educational developers to serve as faculty for the duration of the Institute. We enthusiastically invite applications to present workshops and plenary sessions on a variety of topics, plus to serve as coaches or mentors to small groups or individuals for the week. Being an INED faculty member is important and rewarding service to the educational development profession.

Basic Information about INED Faculty
- When: Institute faculty should be available Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20, 2025 and plan to arrive on Sunday, June 15.
- Where: CSU San Bernardino, San Bernardino, CA
- Compensation: It is the policy of the POD Network that INED faculty are not paid for their time and effort but are reimbursed for reasonable travel expenses. Accommodation, meals, and transportation during INED will be provided to faculty. INED faculty will receive a letter of thanks to document their contributions.
Criteria for Institute Faculty Selection
You do not have to be a “faculty” member at any institution to serve as faculty for the INED 2025. Educational developers from a wide variety of experiences, institutions, and position types are welcomed to apply. We will use the following criteria to select INED faculty:
- Required
- Five or more years of experience in an area(s) of educational development
- Experience mentoring newer colleagues
- Ability to offer robust information in one or more of our topical areas
- Ability to facilitate excellent workshop experiences that are engaging, organized, accessible, inclusive, planned and implemented with universal design for learning principles
- Preferred
- Availability for the entirety of the Institute
- Ability to lead individual or small-group coaching activities during the Institute
Desired Commitments
You will be asked to acknowledge understanding of the following:
- The 2025 INED is in-person at CSU San Bernardino, San Bernardino, CA, from June 16-20, 2025. INED faculty should plan to be present and available to support new educational developers for the entirety of the Institute. I should arrive in San Bernardino on Sunday, June 15 and depart after the Institute ends on Friday, June 20.
- In accordance with POD policy, I will not be paid for my time, effort, or materials. Reasonable round-trip travel expenses to CSU San Bernardino and during the Institute itself will be covered or reimbursed. I am responsible for making my own, refundable travel arrangements, following the hosts’ instructions for pre-payment of expenses or reimbursement. If I am unable to attend, non-refundable expenses may not be reimbursable.
- I must be willing to work with and share materials with a local collaborator to ensure coverage in case of emergencies. All materials I offer must be ones that I have the rights to display and distribute. Any new materials I develop will be offered to Institute participants with a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license. Digital materials must be accessible for users with disabilities; reasonable support to remediate will be available.
