Mosquito colonies are maintained in Environmental Chambers at the CSU San Bernardino.
Here we conduct various research on mosquito adults and their immature stages. The current focus of my lab is on the impact of agrochemicals, such as herbicides, on the mosquito survival, development, and oviposition and as well as the adult fitness to transfer diseases.
Environmental Chambers keep the photoperiod, temperature, and humidity constant during our experiments. This rearing facility has all equipment to rear mosquitoes, as well as a fridge, humidifiers, different balances, aspirators, thermometers, hygrometers and the artificial blood feeding apparatus.
