Internships
The Department of English encourages students to further professionalize themselves by pursuing internship opportunities. Whether unpaid or paid, internships provide students with a chance to apply and hone the skills they have developed in their English courses as readers, writers, researchers, critical thinkers, and communicators.
Students may receive course credit (in ENG 5751/5752/5753) for completed internships.
ENG 5751/5752/5753 may be counted as an elective toward completion of the major.
The procedures for setting up an internship and receiving credit in ENG 5751/5752/5753 are laid out in these documents:
- A form titled “CSUSB Internships in English” which explains for students the process for finding an internship site, registering for ENG 5751/5752/5753, and receiving credit for that course.
- A form titled “Internship Evaluation Form” which is used by the internship supervisor to evaluate the intern’s performance.
Any additional questions about internship opportunities may be directed to the Chair, Jessica Luck (909 537-5824).
