Regalia Information

Faculty at California State University, San Bernardino play an important role in the success of our graduates and in the success of commencement. Thus all are invited to participate in this momentous occasion.

Faculty members participating in the commencement exercises are expected to wear full academic regalia for the ceremony.

Place your faculty regalia requests for the December 2023 commencement at the Coyote Bookstore. To ensure regalia arrives in a timely manner all rental information needs to be submitted to the Coyote Bookstore at least 6 weeks prior to the ceremony date.

If you have rented regalia before, the bookstore should have your information on file. Please call the bookstore at (909) 537-5968 with payment information and they will process your rental.

All regalia orders must be prepaid.  

FYI:
The correct velvet color for all PhD degrees is dark blue, representing the mastery of the discipline of scholarship. On the other hand, the correct velvet color for all non PhD doctoral holders (as well as masters and bachelors) would be that of their particular field.

To avoid confusion, it is very important for all doctors ordering hoods to clearly specify whether they are a PhD (and would be receiving the dark blue velvet regardless of their field). You can find more information at the following website Cap and Gown.
