Summer waitlist applications will be available April 21, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. Applicants will be notified by early May if they have been accepted to enroll in our program.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Summer School Age Enrichment Program is currently TENTATIVE for Summer 2025. We are working diligently to make our school age program happen but there is a possibility we will not be able to offer this program this year or it may start later than our preschool summer session. Please continue to check this page for more information regarding the school age program.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REGARDING SCHEDULING FOR Summer 2025:
During the Summer, our center is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We are closed on Fridays. If you are applying for half days, you may ONLY apply for either the a.m. (7:30-12:00) or p.m. (12:00-5:30) program for a maximum of 4 hours. Scheduling is only done in sets of days (e.g., M/W, Tu/Th, M-Th, etc.) and for consistent times. Session 1 is from June 1 - July 7 and Session 2 is July 9 - August 13. You may apply for one or both sessions.
The Children's Center serves children 2.5 - 5 years old, along with 6-12 year olds during our Summer Session. If your child is under 2.5 years, please apply to the Infant/Toddler Lab School.
Children are admitted to our according to the enrollment priorities listed below as defined by the Department of Education.

Physician's Report
If your child is admitted, you will be required to turn in a completed Physician's Report prior to enrollment. Please do not email or fax completed physician's reports as they contain personal and confidential information. A completed Physician's Report is valid for one year.
Enrollment Priorities:
- First Priority: Child is recipient of Child Protective Services or At-Risk of being neglected, abused or exploited.
- Second Priority: Once the set-aside is filled, child with exceptional needs from income eligible family AND family meets a need criteria. Prioritize based on income ranking order.
- Third Priority: Eligible 4 year old not enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten AND family meets a need criteria. Prioritize children enrolled in CSPP as a 3 year old, then within each ranking prioritize dual language learners, then based on earliest wait list date.
- Fourth Priority: Eligible 3 year old AND family meets a need criteria. Within each ranking prioritize dual language learners, then based on earliest wait list date.
- Fifth Priority: Family income is not more than 15% above income threshold AND family meets a need criteria. Prioritize exceptional needs children, then 4 year olds, then 3 year olds. (limited to 10% of funded enrollment)
- Sixth Priority: Family meets eligibility criteria, but does not meet a need criteria. Within each ranking, prioritize 4 year olds, then 3 year olds.
- Seventh Priority: Family resides in approved neighborhood school boundary. Within each ranking, prioritize 4 year olds, then 3 year olds.
*STUDENT PARENTS: If you are a CSUSB student enrolled for Summer, pell-eligible, and interested in applying for CCAMPIS funding, you will be given the CCAMPIS application if your child is admitted to the program. All student parents will be contacted to submit a copy of their CSUSB class schedule prior to their child's admittance to the center. Class schedules must be turned in for your child's application to be considered complete. CCAMPIS will only cover child care costs for times in which you are in class.
NEW FOR STUDENT PARENTS: Student parents whose children are not admitted may be eligible for Virtual Services, which will include materials for parent led activities, virtual circle times, and parent support. If interested, please indicate "yes" on your application. Interest in virtual services will not effect your child's waitlist status.
