Gino Howard
Gino Howard, Assistant Professor of Psychology, has become one of the newest members of the MS I-O program faculty at CSUSB since earning his Ph.D. in 2023 from Louisiana State University. His expertise includes the work-life interface, diversity, equity and inclusion, employee stress and strain, and workaholism. He has previous applied experience from working with the City of Los Angeles’s Personnel Department in employee assessment and selection.

Nick Moon
Nicholas (Nick) Moon, Assistant Professor of Psychology, is a member of the MS I-O program faculty at CSUSB. He received his Ph.D. in 2023 from Florida Institute of Technology. His research interests include personality and individual differences, self-regulation, and motivation at work. His applied expertise includes assessment development, job analyses, and validation studies for personnel selection. He has previous applied experiences working with several large organizations as an external consultant at Aon. Additionally, he was a project lead for both a training project at the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division and an applied research project in self-regulation for the U.S. Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences.

Mark Agars
Mark D. Agars, Professor of Psychology, has been a member of the MS I-O program faculty at CSUSB since earning his Ph.D. in 1999 from Penn State University. His expertise includes the work-life interface, sexism in the workplace, diversity management and inclusion, and work motivation. He has served as Chair on more than 60 M.S. Theses, and has been recognized for his work with students including in 2018 when he was named the Outstanding Faculty Research Mentor by the Office of Student Research and the Outstanding Faculty Mentor by the CSUSB Educational Opportunity Program, and in 2013 when he was named the CSUSB Outstanding Faculty Mentor. He has served as the Director of the Institute for Child Development and Family Relations at CSUSB since 2015, during which time he cultivated and served as PI on projects totaling more than $3 million in external support for faculty research, student research and service learning, and direct service delivery in the community.

Janelle Gilbert
Janelle Gilbert, Professor of Psychology, has been a member of the CSUSB Psychology department since 1995 after earning her degree from George Mason University. She has served as the director of the MS in IO Psychology graduate program several times and is currently the Faculty Director of General Education for CSUSB. She is a member of the university DEI board focusing on equity in curriculum. Dr. Gilbert’s areas of focus include organizational development, leadership and groups, workplace training, and program evaluation. Her current work focuses on program assessment. Dr. Gilbert is a Golden Apple winner for contributions in education.

Ken Shultz
Ken Shultz, Professor and Chair of Psychology and Executive Board Member of the Center on Aging, has taught at CSUSB for more than 30 years. He has previously been Director of the MS in IO Psychology graduate program several times and Director of the Undergraduate I-O Concentration in Psychology. Ken has been bestowed the top honor for a faculty member at CSUSB, the John M. Pfau Outstanding Professor Award [calstate.edu]. He has also been a Fulbright US Specialist in New Zealand at Massey University’s Health and Ageing Research Team - HART [massey.ac.nz]. In addition, he has been a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Psychology in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California.
Ken's expertise includes personnel selection and assessment, performance management, testing and measurement, research and survey methodology, and statistical analyses. He has significant applied experiences working at several large organizations including the City of Los Angeles, UNISYS Corporation, and United Airlines. Ken has also consulted with several large Southern California employers, including the City of Riverside and Southern California Edison.
