Anthony Ortega, a Cal State San Bernardino alumnus who is the hospital’s historian and a licensed clinical social worker, shared his presentation as a precursor to a CSUSB museum tour that will take place in late April, just before mental health awareness month in May.

The program provides free healthcare services to homeless, unsheltered and vulnerable people in the Coachella Valley, as well as engages CSUSB Palm Desert Campus nursing students at all degree levels in clinical healthcare activities.

The city of Palm Desert has declared Aug. 24 as “Dr. Diane Vines Day” to honor the nursing instructor for her leadership and service to the community.
