Three friends of Cal State San Bernardino – Shelby Obershaw, Ingeborg Schuler and Terrance L. Stone – were honored at the annual event for their contributions to the university and the community.

Terrance L. Stone is a national- and state-certified gang intervention and prevention specialist who has reached more than 185,000 at-risk youth through Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Academy, of which Stone is the founder and CEO.

Richard “Cheech” Marin was awarded the President’s Medal for his accomplishments as an actor, author of children’s books and a preeminent collector of Chicano art and the recently opened Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art and Culture.

Marin will be presented the President’s Medal at the President’s Dinner on Nov. 30, at the Mission Inn in Riverside.
