Cal State San Bernardino is one of 471 colleges and universities in the nation recognized for outstanding efforts to increase nonpartisan student voter participation in the 2024 election.
CSUSB was the only California State University to receive the 2024 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification from the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The elective designation highlights Cal State San Bernardino’s commitment to community engagement, and it is the second time CSUSB has renewed its classification.
Brian Heisterkamp will serve as interim director of Cal State San Bernardino’s Office of Community Engagement, facilitates partnerships between the university and public and private groups off campus, providing knowledge and resources to enrich scholarship, research and creative activity that benefits the public good.
