
Yan Zhang, associate professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering, is the recipient of Cal State San Bernardino’s 2024-25 Outstanding Service Award for her extensive, sustained service to students, the university and the broader academic and professional community.

Alumnus and international student, Moe Allary, graduated in December 2023 with an MBA degree with a concentration in cyber security. He is now set to advance his academic career at Claremont Graduate University, pursuing a doctor in technology degree.

Graduate student Naja Faysal embodies the essence of International Day of Education (Jan. 24) through a deep dedication to learning and innovation. Inspired by his Lebanese parents, both educators and entrepreneurs, he is earning a master’s degree in information systems technology and has founded Parrots Lab, LLC, an innovative AI company.

The Speaking Center at JHBC, which opened in winter 2020, helps students practice their public speaking skills, hone their oral presentation skills, and become more comfortable in public speaking moments overall.
