The Seal of Excelencia is a national certification for colleges and universities that strive to go beyond enrollment and more intentionally serve Latino students to become institutions where Latino, and all, students thrive. It is the culmination of a rigorous assessment process and is valid for three years.

The summit, which will be attended by U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, is the sixth in a series of in-person events across the country designed to highlight the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to advancing equity and economic empowerment and to connect local Latino community members directly with federal leaders and resources.

 The grant from the U.S. Department of Education is aimed at increasing the number of Hispanic and low-income students who are from STEM courses.
