“How to Get Published on Amazon: A Guide for Beginning Writers” is the 10th book written by Lt. Col. John J. McBrearty (U.S. Army retired), a former assistant professor of military science at Cal State San Bernardino. In addition, one of his earlier works, “Army Values,” was released as an audiobook.
CSUSB’s Veterans Success Center offers a writing program directed specifically toward veterans and their family members. The result, 10 years on, is a trove of published books, regular appearances at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books and a collection of author-veterans who range from poets to novelists to screenwriters.
Written by Veterans is an initiative of CSUSB’s Veterans Success Center. Launched originally in 2014, it has evolved into a hybrid writing group for veterans to grow their writing skills and eventually publish their work through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.
U.S. Rep. Mark Takano will visit CSUSB on Friday, Jan. 31, to meet with university officials and learn about CSUSB’s veterans and cybersecurity programs. Office of Strategic Communication
