Rachel Kanter
I am an undergraduate Psychology student whose research interests include trauma, moral injury, interpersonal violence, as well as adverse health outcomes from these experiences. Currently, I'm conducting various independent research projects under the guidance of Dr. Brittany Bloodhart and Dr. Christina Hassija. These projects have allowed me to explore how feelings of deprivation might relate to intimate partner violence, and how feminist beliefs could influence empathy towards men. I'm particularly excited about my recent work on moral injury and its relationship to survivors and perpetrators of intimate partner violence, which is currently under review for publication. When I'm not working on my own projects, I'm also a research assistant for projects with both Dr. Bloodhart and Dr. Hassija. My preeminent goal is to shed light on risk factors for both perpetrating and experiencing interpersonal violence, and to better understand health outcomes of trauma survivors.
