Mary Tyree-Garcia (she/her)
Current Status:
Undergraduate Student in Communication Studies
Public Speaking Experience:
Believe it or not, my first experience in public speaking was in kindergarten when I was picked to be the student emcee for our graduation ceremony. I found myself repeatedly being asked to do some form of presentation or hosting through the years. Having learned from wonderful communication professors helped me through the nerves of symposiums, being a panelist for school heads, being a student teacher or delivering speeches both in class and campus wide. I have had the privilege to be a work director and team member engagement lead that allowed me to work, connect with people and share in the joy of learning from one another.
Why I work for the Speaking Center at JHBC:
I work for the Speaking Center because I am passionate about connecting with people and be able to extend help in any capacity I can. I am excited to expand my experience and knowledge where I can make an impact helping others communicate and connect more effectively. I am here to grow along with you.
My Consultant Philosophy:
My consultant approach is simple – it is focused on you, the clients. I believe in the unique needs of everyone and hope to empower you to reach your communication goals.
