Bio

Professor Bazaz is a Professor of Accounting at California State University since 2011.  He has over 35 years of teaching and consulting experience specializing in financial, managerial and international accounting. He has taught elementary, intermediate, and advanced accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the United States and multiple international universities.  Dr. Bazaz has been consistently invited as a guest lecturer to many leading foreign universities including in Austria, Canada, China, India, Iran, Kosovo, Malaysia, and Turkey.  During his tenure, he has received numerous teaching awards.  Dr. Bazaz has a Ph.D. in Accounting from University of Oklahoma. 

Dr. Bazaz’s has published more than 40 blind review research articles in leading national and international accounting journals.  Dr. Bazaz research focus is accounting regulations, equity price reaction to incremental disclosure, foreign currency translation, segmental reporting, corporate governance, and event studies. His articles have appeared in reputable journals including Research in Accounting Regulation, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, The Journal of International Accounting, Global Finance Journal, Advances in International Accounting, and Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economic. His research in the area of assessment of currency exchange rate risk was awarded an educational grant from the National Association of Chartered Accountants in the United States. 

Dr. Bazaz has had consulting engagements with several firms including Chrysler Corporation.  He has advised clients on topics such as: activity-based costing, business process costing, and corporate investments in other countries. He currently advises local clients and businesses in Southern California.
