Clarinetist Margaret Worsley has collaborated with Chamber and Orchestral groups around the world. She has concertized in Zimbabwe, Lesotho, South Africa, Mexico, Iceland, China, Canada, and much of Europe. Margaret is Principal Clarinetist of the San Bernardino Symphony, full-time Associate Professor of Instrumental Music at San Bernardino Valley College, and teaches applied clarinet at California State University San Bernardino. She has been an active substitute for the Riverside Philharmonic Orchestra, Redlands Symphony Orchestra, the Fresno Philharmonic, the Las Vegas Philharmonic, and the New World Symphony in Miami; and a soloist with the Dana Point Symphony, Corona Symphony, the Cal State Fullerton Wind Symphony, Mt. San Antonio College Wind Ensemble, and the Cal State San Bernardino Symphonic Band.
Originally from Huntington Beach, California, Ms. Worsley received her undergraduate degree in Music Performance from California State University, Fullerton, where she studied with renowned soloist Håkan Rosengren. Upon completion of her Bachelor of Music Degree, Margaret studied at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada, with acclaimed clarinetist Joaquin Valdepeñas. She obtained an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School and continued her studies at the University of Michigan, where she acquired a Master’s Degree in Clarinet Performance, while studying with famed pedagogue Deborah Chodacki. Margaret is presently pursuing a PhD in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design for Online Learning from Capella University.
Ms. Worsley lives in Fullerton, where she teaches and freelances throughout the area. She has recently been hired as professor of Applied Clarinet at Cal State University San Bernardino, is full-time tenured Faculty at San Bernardino Valley College, and has served as Adjunct Faculty at Mount San Antonio College, Riverside City College, Fullerton College, and Cal State University Fullerton. Margaret is the Artistic Director of the Orange County Clarinet Consort (OCCC), a founding member of the West Coast Wind Quintet (WCWQ), a Board Member of the San Bernardino Valley Concert Association (the 501c3 non-profit which oversees the Garcia Center for the Arts), Treasurer for the Music Association of California Community Colleges (MACCC), and a member of the American Federation of Musicians—in both Locals 7 and 47.
