"I completed all the courses necessary to receive my Accounting certificate from Cal State University, San Bernardino. It surprised me how quick the program went by, the 5-week courses are very helpful to achieve your goals if you have a certain timeline for yourself.
"The first few classes of the program were manageable and it gave me more confidence to do the more difficult classes in the program. After my first few classes I also found out that I had an interest in auditing more than taxation compared to when I first started the program.
"In my current career, I can apply to my work immediately concepts I learned in my auditing course. Concepts like quality assurance, integrity, etc. These are concepts that can be applied across all work environments.
"My next step would be to pursue the online MS in Accountancy at CSUSB. I imagine myself being able to work in taxation to supplement my current career. It is a career I see for myself after retirement, and they are great skills to have in any work environment even outside of the Accounting field it can be applied overall to business."
