What advice would you give to new transfer students coming to CSUSB?
Get involved, stay connected to everyone you meet in your classes especially your professors, and have fun!!!
Why are you proud to be a transfer student? Provide highlights of your college career so far.
I am a first generation, low-income, Queer student so there were many obstacles in my path to getting to CSUSB. Through hard work and dedication on campus as a student getting honor roll 3 times and being a student leader in clubs, organizations, and student government and off-campus with extra curriculars and volunteering opportunities; I received 5 AA's from Riverside City College and was accepted to San Francisco, Humboldt, East Bay, and San Bernardino.
What was the most challenging part of being a transfer student? How did you overcome it?
Coming into leadership positions on campus in the dorms and knowing that you have two years to try and do as much as you can while balancing school work, extra curriculars, and volunteering opportunities.
What were your reasons for transferring? Have you achieved your objectives?
I wanted to live in the dorms as a first year, first gen student and I was excited that I did because I learned so much about myself and my relationships with other people. I have
How has CSUSB helped you attain your academic and personal goals as a transfer student?
I have met so many people in my field and concentration that have helped me shape my graduate thesis proposal.
What is the best part of being a transfer student? What makes transfer students special?
The best part of being a transfer student is that I have already completed a lot of my course work and have been able to step into a lot of leadership roles that have helped me transition into CSUSB leadership roles. Transfer students are special because they show that education doesn't stop it keeps going no matter your background.
