Dr. Eugene Wong is Professor of Child Development and a Licensed Psychologist in the State of California. His research interests focus on two primary areas. First, his community-based work (Building Executive Function for Academic Success Training – BEFAST) examines the efficacy of cognitive training programs in supporting the development of executive function among students in the K12 setting. A primary goal of this work is to provide students with a strong foundation for academic success and engagement. Dr. Wong’s second area of research focuses on teaching pedagogy in the university setting. In particular, he collaborates with colleagues to develop teaching practices that are the basis of a highly effective learning space (i.e., the college classroom).
Dr. Wong lives in Riverside and loves the outdoors. As often as possible, he likes to be in nature somewhere (usually by water and in the mountains!). He also travels and enjoys learning about the culture and people in the destinations he has a chance to visit.
