Single Subject with Bilingual Added Authorization Credential

Program Description:
The Spanish Bilingual Authorization can be added to a Single Subject Credential. To qualify, Spanish Bilingual students must fulfill linguistic requirements, complete alternative coursework, and complete a minimum of 20 hours of clinical practice in bilingual settings, as outlined by the CTC. Clinical practice is typically embedded within observation hours in EDMD 5101 or EDMD 5102.

 Application Details:

Bilingual students must complete the following steps and attend an interview with the program coordinator before admission:

• Complete the Bilingual Authorization Interest Form;
• Enroll in the next WCOE Spanish Placement test;
• Submit a Teacher Narrative in Spanish. Before applying via Cal State Apply, please send your teacher narrative (written in Spanish) to the program coordinator as a PDF attachment;
• Prepare a draft of your program plan. Before attending orientation, you must create a draft of your Program Plan.
• Provide unofficial transcripts.
