Alumna Cherina Betters, chief of equity and access for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, reflects on the impact Cal State San Bernardino has had on her life and in the community she serves.
The Celebration of Teaching, with the theme “The Future of Education Is in Your Hands,” is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, in the Center for Global Innovation at Cal State San Bernardino.
As chief of equity and access at San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, Cherina Betters represents 33 school districts and more than 400,000 students.
“Educational Leadership and Voice for Critical Action: Leading Educational Policies and Practices in an Era of Change” brought together Southern California’s top educational leaders to engage in topics that will enhance K-12 and higher education opportunities.
“Educational Leadership and Voice for Critical Action: Leading Educational Policies and Practices in an Era of Change,” will take place from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2.
The celebration, part of the Homecoming Week festivities, will give graduates of the university’s Educational Leadership Doctoral Program a chance to reconnect with each other and with the CSUSB community. It will take place from noon-3 p.m. at the Santos Manuel Student Union, Room 106B.
The two-part webinar series, to be held Oct. 5 and 12, is a collaboration between the Institute for Child Development and Family Relations at CSUSB and San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools.
Cherina Betters, the Outstanding Doctoral Student, and Olivia Bushem, the Outstanding Graduate Student, will be recognized by the College of Education at 4 p.m. Saturday at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.
