Angela Peñaredondo (English) was a panelist for a West Hollywood program celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Brian Levin (criminal justice, emeritus) was interviewed on topics related to campus protests stemming from the Israel-Hamas war, and Meredith Conroy (political science) participated on a 538 live blog following the Indiana primary election.
Thomas McWeeney (public administration) discussed school shooting safety measures at the Zero Tolerance training at the Palm Desert Campus, and Chad Sweeney (creative writing) wrote a column on how writing haiku can help “to restore us, to connect us to our bodies and the world around us.”
Along with teaching and mentoring, Julie Paegle, who joined CSUSB in 2006 and taught a wide array of courses for the English department, was an accomplished poet and Pulitzer Prize nominee.
Through various events, journals and workshops, the creative writing team in the Cal State San Bernardino Department of English works hard to highlight and celebrate the diverse voices of the campus community.
