Arab American Heritage Month at CSUSB is a tribute to a rich and diverse culture, offering the campus and local community a chance to learn, connect and celebrate together. The university will honor Arab American Heritage Month (AAHM) throughout April with a series of events, all of which are free and open to the public.

Hosted by various campus departments and centers, the monthlong celebration will include an exhibit on Arab and Arab American literature, a unique virtual reality experience, cultural gatherings, and artistic showcases, culminating in a campus community celebration.

Celebrating Arab American Heritage Month Exhibit

April 1–30
John M. Pfau Library
The library will host an exhibit highlighting works of Arab and Arab American literature. Curated to honor the voices and contributions of Arab writers, the display invites the campus and community to explore a rich literary tradition.

Gaza Virtual Reality Exhibit

April 7 & 9
10 a.m.-3 p.m. | John M. Pfau Library, room 111
Experience a non-political, immersive look into everyday life in Gaza, Palestine, both before and after the recent conflict with Israel. Captured and organized by a recent CSUSB master’s student, the virtual reality experience offers 360-degree footage across 11 themes, including agriculture, education, local markets and more.

Coyote Walk: A Place to Gather – An Arab Tent

Embrace the spirit of Arab hospitality and tradition by visiting the Arab tent, a space designed to reflect the warmth and communal values that are central to Arab culture.

Arabic Calligraphy Expo Lecture

April 15

Lecturer Imad Bayoun will present about the beauty and history of Arabic calligraphy, accompanied by an exhibit of student calligraphy projects. Enjoy the discussion with a cup of traditional Yemeni coffee.

Arab American Heritage Month Party

April 22
6-8 p.m. | Santos Manual Student Union North Conference Center A-E
Hosted by the APIDA Center, this festive evening will feature Arab music, food, and community. The celebration aims to uplift Arab and SWANA (Southwest Asian and North African) voices, honor their cultural contributions, and build solidarity.
