Cal State San Bernardino graduate student Pedro Aceves will present his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) thesis exhibition, "Out of Sight Out of Need," at the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art’s Dutton Family Gallery. The exhibition will run from March 20-27, with an opening reception on March 20 from 4-6 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Aceves’ work features interactive lens-based artworks that explore queer cruising and decolonial thought through a Latinx perspective. Using photography, glass, augmented reality and other mediums, the exhibition invites conversations on identity, intimacy and cultural reclamation.

A CSUSB alumnus, Aceves earned his bachelor’s degree in visual studies and studio art in 2021. While studying photography and working as a teaching assistant for Chicano Studies courses, he discovered his passion for blending photography with other mediums. After working as a professional photographer, he pursued his MFA to further explore queer and pre-Hispanic Latinx histories through artistic storytelling. His exhibition examines themes of visibility, connection and cultural resistance.
