Patrick Marshall, a proud CSUSB MBA alumnus, continues to make a positive impact in communities across California. Marshall, who previously served as an inmate rehabilitation manager for the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, is the co-founder of the College Collaborative System, an initiative dedicated to supporting higher education pathways for justice-impacted individuals. His dedication to social change earned him the 2023 Changemaker of the Year award from the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE).
Now, Marshall is expanding his reach as the newly appointed vice president of the San Jose/Silicon Valley Branch of the NAACP. In this leadership role, he is committed to fostering unity and support within the community. "We want to be the branch that sets the standard," Marshall said. "We want to bring people together, support them, and help them grow. We want to be a beacon of hope for people."
In addition to his work with the NAACP, Marshall is shaping the next generation of justice leaders as an instructor in criminal justice at Mission College. His experience in rehabilitation, policy and community engagement informs his teaching, giving students real-world insights into the complexities of the justice system.
With each new endeavor, Marshall continues to embody the values of leadership, service and innovation that define CSUSB alumni.
"Bringing people together without judgment or hate, bringing communities together, and being involved with education at a high level. That’s my ultimate goal," he said.
