The Department of Public Administration at CSUSB’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration is celebrating a significant achievement following the 2024 elections. Two of its lecturers have been elected this year to serve, for a total of four faculty members in public offices across the region, highlighting the department's commitment to cultivating leaders in public service.

 

David Ready, the former city manager of Palm Springs, has transitioned to a new role as city councilmember for District 5. Known for his decades of municipal government leadership, Ready's contributions to Palm Springs have already been recognized with a dog park named in his honor in 2021. His election marks a new chapter in his continued service to the community.

Treasure Ortiz has been elected as city councilmember for San Bernardino's Seventh Ward. As an influential leader and advocate for her community, Ortiz is set to bring her public administration expertise to city governance.

Bob Miller was elected prior to the 2024 election and represents Trustee Area 5 on the Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District School Board. With extensive experience in education and local governance, Miller is well-positioned to support the district's growth and development.

Bob Gardner brings his deep connection to Mono County and a strong passion for local governance to his role as supervisor for the county's Third District. He was elected prior to the 2024 election. His expertise and community ties enrich the work of the Mono County Board of Supervisors.
