Cal State San Bernardino’s Center for Cyber & AI welcomed 144 guests to its annual open house, an evening dedicated to highlighting the center’s resources, student achievements, and opportunities within the fields of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. The event, held on Oct. 25 from 6-8 p.m. in the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration (JHBC), featured interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and engaging presentations from key business college leaders, including JHBC Dean Tomás Gomez-Arias and Center for Cyber & AI Executive Director Tony Coulson.
Students in the Cyber Intelligence & Security Organization (CISO) and the Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) clubs engaged attendees with their cybersecurity and AI presentations.
"The center was proud to feature demonstrations from students in the CISO and WiCyS clubs, who showcased their innovative, student-led projects from this fall 2024 semester. Attendees experienced firsthand the remarkable work our CSUSB students are accomplishing and heard from the Center for Cyber & AI’s directors about the scholarships, research opportunities, and new initiatives our program is undertaking, such as ‘TryCyber’ and the Cyber Career Explorer Map," said Erinea House, outreach & recruitment coordinator for the Center for Cyber & AI.
The open house provided guests, including students, families, faculty, staff and community members, with a comprehensive look at the Center for Cyber & AI’s programs, degrees and career readiness opportunities. Attendees had the chance to interact with representatives from campus STEM clubs, as well as explore exhibits focused on workforce development, scholarships, apprenticeships, and research initiatives designed to advance student knowledge and career potential in these high-demand fields.
