The Office of Academic Equity (OAE) at CSUSB’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration is hosting the 7th annual JHBC ShEconomy. This year’s theme, "The Synergy of Self-Advocacy, Confidence Building, and Personal Branding in the Digital Era," will focus on equipping attendees with the skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive online environment. The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 5:30 p.m.-8:15 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

To register for ShEconomy, visit the event website. The event will be offered in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend either in person at the Santos Manuel Student Union South,107 Auditorium/Theater or online via Zoom.

The ShEconomy will begin with a networking session, giving participants the chance to connect and engage with one another. Following the networking portion, a presentation on the state of the ShEconomy will provide insights into the current landscape of self-advocacy, confidence building, and personal branding. Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with a panel of experts, where they can ask questions and explore strategies for enhancing their professional and personal development in the digital era.

The focus of this year’s event reflects the growing importance of mastering self-advocacy, building confidence, and cultivating a personal brand in the online space. Self-advocacy empowers individuals to communicate their strengths and needs effectively, while confidence building lays the foundation for pursuing opportunities and overcoming challenges. When combined with a strong personal brand that highlights one’s unique skills and values, these elements create a powerful presence that can elevate career prospects and support personal development.
