Cal State San Bernardino earned a bronze seal from the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge for nonpartisan student voter participation efforts in the 2022 midterm elections. CSUSB achieved a student voting rate between 20 and 29 percent. The recognition showcases the university’s commitment to ensuring that students’ voices are heard and nonpartisan democratic engagement is a defining feature of campus life.

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge is a national awards program and initiative that empowers colleges and universities to achieve excellence in nonpartisan student democratic engagement. Additionally, it encourages higher education institutions to help students form the habits of active and informed citizenship, as well as make democratic participation a core value on their campus.

CSUSB was recognized, along with more than 500 college campuses, using data from the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement. This is not the first time CSUSB has been recognized for its student voter engagement. The university earned the silver seal for student voter participation efforts in the 2020 presidential election and was honored with the gold seal in the 2018 midterm elections.

More than 1,060 campuses, enrolling more than 10 million students, have joined the challenge since its launch in 2016. Visit the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge website to learn more.
