CSUSB’s Division of Human Resources held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 12 from 10 a.m.-noon to mark the grand opening of its new Staff Enrichment Center (SEC), a space dedicated to fostering the success and professional growth of university staff.

The SEC is a key initiative of the university's 2023-28 Strategic Plan, specifically supporting Goal 2, which emphasizes employee development and well-being. The ceremony began with networking and refreshments in the Obershaw Dining Room, where staff had the opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the university.

At 10:30 a.m., university President Tomás D. Morales delivered welcoming remarks, underscoring the importance of supporting staff members through initiatives like the SEC. He was joined by Robin Phillips, vice president of the Division of Human Resources, and Rowena Casis-Woidyla, director of staff development, who shared their vision for the center and its role in enriching the staff experience at CSUSB.

Following the speeches, attendees moved to the new center, located next to the Alumni Center in room 107 (formerly the Sycamore Room), for the official ribbon-cutting. The ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter for staff support at the university, with tours of the facility and various activities highlighting the center's resources and services.

The Staff Enrichment Center will provide a dedicated space for professional development, wellness initiatives, and collaboration, further solidifying the university's commitment to empowering its employees.
