The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) at Cal State San Bernardino (CSUSB), in partnership with the California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP), hosted the UpStarters Discovery Camp from July 21-25. This innovative camp welcomed approximately 80 high school students to CSUSB’s campus for an immersive week of instruction and experiential learning. The students not only got a taste of the university’s globally recognized entrepreneurship program, but they also gained a sense of what college life is like.

The UpStarters Discover Camp was designed to give students a comprehensive introduction into the world of entrepreneurship. Over 20 hours of sessions, workshops and projects provided deep entrepreneurial insights, encouraging active participation and hands-on learning. The camp emphasized developing a strategic, opportunity-seeking mindset, essential for any budding entrepreneur.

Students connected with CSUSB's entrepreneurship students, faculty and a network of alumni and professionals, fostering valuable relationships and mentorships. The five-day, four-night camp offered students a glimpse into campus life, including staying in the dorms and exploring university facilities. Participation in the camp allowed students to showcase their proactive involvement and passion for innovation, adding a significant credential to their academic and extracurricular profiles.
