The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Cal State San Bernardino will host two colloquiums in the coming weeks.
The first, “Aging and Cognition,” will take place from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in the Pfau Library, room PL-111.
Presenting will be Fadi Muheidat (computer science and engineering), “Aging in Place: Harnessing Technology for Seniors’ Well-being and Privacy”; Jacob Jones (psychology), “Detecting Cognitive Impairment Early in Parkinson’s Disease and the Potential of the Gut-Microbiome-Brain Axis”; Yawen Li (social work), “Exploring Adult Day Services as a Solution for Long-Term Care among Minority Older Adults”; and Eric Vogelsang (sociology, director, Center on Aging), “The Health Implications of Social Participation among Older Adults.”
The second, “Borderlands, California and Migration,” will take place from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, room SB-129.
Presenting will be Alicia Gutierrez-Romine (history), “On Borders, Bodies and Belonging”; Michelle Lorimer (history), “Selling California: Nostalgia and Creating Place at the Turn of the Twentieth Century”; and Rosario Rizzo Lara (sociology), “Identifying Frame Resonance: The Case of the October 2018 Migrant Caravan.”
