The Texas Tribune
May 8, 2023
Brian Levin, director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at Cal State San Bernardino, was quoted in an article about the suspect in the May 6 Allen, Texas, outlet mall shooting. TouchScope: A Passive-Haptic Device to Investigate Tactile Perception Using a Refreshable Braille Display
Journal of Cognition
Pablo Gómez (psychology) led a team of researchers focusing on touch, which is underrepresented in psychology research. In the abstract, the researchers wrote: “In the present work, we present a system to display tactile stimuli (braille cells) and collect response time with the capability for static and dynamic (passive haptic) stimuli presentation that will contribute to the development of tactile research. While the system requires some construction, it can be put together with commercially available materials.”
