Breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry
Being the first CSUSB student to earn the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) fellowship in stage management, both regionally and nationally, is “incredible,” says Isabel Peña. The fellowship is especially rewarding since stage management is often a male-dominated area.
Isabel enjoys CSUSB’s theatre arts program, not only because her mentors helped her earn the KCACTF fellowship, but because of the many hands-on experiences she gets in the department. She also appreciates the faculty who have experience in professional theater, which then gets passed down to students.
