Dorothy Chen-Maynard, a Cal State San Bernardino professor of health science and human ecology who has been with the campus since 1992, says she is happy to see that the faculty population has become more diverse over the years.
Diversity, she says, affects how we look at life, helps us learn from each other and shows all students that they too can be successful.
Chen-Maynard, a nutritional science expert, teaches an array of courses at CSUSB, including cultural foods, culinary arts, principles of nutrition, and assessment and research methods. She was the recipient of the 2020-21 CSUSB Outstanding Service Award for her extensive and sustained contributions to students, the campus and the greater community.
Diversity is a vital part of CSUSB and we are proud to represent various backgrounds, thoughts and experiences.
