CSUSB professor and alumni among featured speakers in financial awareness talk

The Society of Extraordinary Women will offer a virtual program on Thursday, Feb. 11, to help people plan for their economic future featuring a group of prominent speakers that includes Francisca Beer, the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration associate dean of Academic Equity at Cal State San Bernardino.

Also joining her are two CSUSB alumni and a member of the university’s Philanthropic Foundation.

The program “Financial Awareness & Wealth Building – Conversation with the Experts” will be online from 6-7:30 p.m. Online registration closes at 4 p.m. Thursday. Register at the Society of Extraordinary Women Financial Seminar website.

Visitors can learn about investing in the stock market, building wealth through real estate investment, securing capital to start/expand your business, understanding Bitcoin and Blockchain technology, creating residual income and building a legacy.

The topics and speakers are:

• Understanding the Stock Market – Beer, who is also a professor of accounting and finance at the Jack H. Brown College;
• Securing Capital for a Business – Nefertiti Long COD, Alta Loma Enterprises, treasurer, Alliance of Black Women Accountants and board member of the CSUSB Philanthropic Foundation;
• The Power of Entrepreneurship – CSUSB alumna Monica Stockhausen ’12, professor of business, Chaffey College;
• Creative Investment Strategies/Blockchain Technology – Tjaj’ Mari DuCloux, owner/founder Woodcrest Realty Group.  

The program will be moderated by CSUSB alumna Paulette Brown-Hinds ’90, founder/president of Voice Media Ventures and an adjunct professor at UC Riverside.

The Society of Extraordinary Women Inc. is a nonprofit organization consisting of a group of dedicated professionals committed to making a difference in the lives of young girls and making a positive impact in the community.

The society offers a Leadership Academy to instill in students a desire for learning, increasing their graduation rates, engaging in non-traditional subject matters and career choices, while helping them also develop leadership skills.
