The John M. Pfau Library at Cal State San Bernardino has launched a project that aims to document how the university’s students, faculty and staff are responding and adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The John M. Pfau Library’s Special Collections & University Archives “is actively documenting the university’s response to the pandemic and would like to complement these materials with first-hand accounts from our students, faculty, and staff,” it said on its website. “These materials will be preserved in the University Archives, providing future researchers with a snapshot of how we as the CSUSB community navigated our way through this transformative historical event.”

The University Archives seeks to collect materials that capture how CSUSB students, faculty and staff are responding to the crisis by practicing physical distancing, sheltering in place, working remotely, expanding online offerings, learning and teaching in a fluid educational environment, supporting the vulnerable, and more.

The university community can participate by “recording your experiences and compiling your stories now! There is no prescribed format for this and you should feel free to express yourself in the medium of your choosing,” according to the library website.

For more information on what materials are being sought and how to share submissions, go to the library’s “Documenting the CSUSB COVID-19 Experience” webpage or contact university archivist Eric Milenkiewicz at eric.milenkiewicz@csusb.edu.
