The California State University, San Bernardino Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, in association with Assembly Select Committee on the State of Hate, will host an informal hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
 
The hearing, to begin at 4 p.m. in the Santos Manuel Student Union Theater, will feature a panel discussion with Brian Levin, CSUSB professor of criminal justice and director of the Center for the Study on Hate and Extremism, along with representatives from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, and a former leader of a white nationalist group.
 
At a time when hate is on the rise, this hearing takes on increased importance, and will focus on the current state of white nationalism, neo-Nazism and other forms of hate in California in an effort to explore ways to effectively address it.
 
The event is free and open to the public, however, advance registration is required to attend.
