Ethiopian Diaspora Trust Fund chaired by Alemayehu G. Mariam, CSUSB professor emeritus, reaches milestone

July 25, 2019
Alemayehu G. Mariam, CSUSB professor emeritus of political science at Cal State San Bernardino and chair of the Ethiopian Diaspora Trust Fund (EDTF), wrote in his weekly column that the fund has launched its first call for proposals – a milestone for the fund.
“With the announcement for request for proposals, donors and others can now take a clear look at EDTF’s plans and implementation strategies,” Mariam wrote.
The fund and its advisory council was formed by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to engage Ethiopians living outside their homeland to participate in its rebuilding. In August Abiy challenged them to donate at least a $1 a day to fund development and social programs.
