Cal State San Bernardino President Tomás D. Morales welcomed several impromptu visitors to his office on March 24 when members of the CSUSB Chinese Student Association presented him with a gift in appreciation of his ongoing support of the club and this year’s Chinese New Year celebration last month.
“Thank you for your support. Thank you for attending our Chinese festival and thank you for your support of Chinese programs,” said Jingjing Li, the club’s president. “Chinese students think CSUSB is very comfortable and we tell our friends in China who also want to join CSUSB.”
Li, who is an accounting major, was accompanied by club vice presidents Hao Li (finance), Yupeng Li (finance), and treasurer Xuanyi Wu (accounting).
Morales thanked the students.
“First of all, I appreciate all of you. You all enrich our campus community. I also want to thank our faculty advisers,” Morales said. “It’s a labor of love. I enjoy learning from you, participating in your cultural events. By the way, I thought it was a wonderful event, well executed, well timed, very enjoyable.”
The Chinese New Year is one of the most important of all the traditional Chinese holidays, filled with a great amount of traditions, culture and entertainment.
