Cal State San Bernardino recently welcomed the Student African American Brotherhood Western Cluster Conference, which focused on assisting African-American male students to excel academically, socially, culturally, professionally and in the community.

Hosted by the university’s SAAB chapter, the one-day conference held on Sept. 30 featured a keynote speech by SAAB founder Tyrone Bledsoe, said Anthony Roberson, the associate director of operations for the university’s Santos Manuel Student Union.

The event was attended by about 60 people representing SAAB chapters in Los Angeles, San Diego and the Inland Empire, and also had a best practice discussion on how to be successful in the retention and graduation of African-American students, ice-breaking activities, and skits using CSUSB’s new brand “We Define the Future,” Roberson said.
