The Vision2Read Family Reading Rally, designed to help improve literacy at all levels from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade throughout San Bernardino County by connecting people to literacy programs, took place recently at Cal State San Bernardino.

The event, co-hosted by CSUSB and the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools on Sept. 30, featured free books, face painting, balloons, crafts, snacks and literacy presentations and a musical performance.

The Vision2Read initiative is a year-long campaign in support of the Countywide Vision and the Regional Goal of supporting every child from cradle to career. The Vision2Read initiative is designed to:

  • Focus attention on the importance of reading;
  • Highlight literacy-related programs and services throughout San Bernardino County; and
  • Connect people to available literacy resources and/or volunteer opportunities.
