Dancing, food, music and activities will be part of the annual Dia de los Muertos celebration at Cal State San Bernardino on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Lower Commons patio area. The event is free and open to the public.

Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday to celebrate and honor loved ones who have passed away. A community altar, which is co-sponsored by CSUSB’s theater group Acto Latino, will be on display. Attendees are welcome to bring a photo of their departed loved ones to put on the altar.

The Dia de los Muertos event at CSUSB will also feature folklorico and Aztec dancers, food for purchase from Family First Catering, music, student clubs, games, activities, a Calaveras auction and an opportunity drawing.

Opportunity drawing tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the event: six tickets for $5 or one ticket for $1.

Free parking passes are available at any kiosk with code 5373447.

The Dia de los Muertos event is sponsored by CSUSB’s Association of Latino Faculty, Staff and Students (ALFSS), Student Union Latinx Center, Program Board and University Diversity Committee.
