The CSUSB athletics department raised about $100,000 to benefit the university’s student-athletes as it played host to the 22nd annual Dave Stockton Coyote Classic tournament on June 4 at the Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont. The tournament features Stockton, a San Bernardino native who is recognized worldwide as one of the game’s top short-game teachers after an illustrious professional career. “Through the years the community support for our student-athletes at the Coyote Classic has been outstanding,” said CSUSB Director of Athletics Shawn Farrell. “Once again we are excited to feature Dave Stockton as he shares his world-renowned expertise on the finer points of golf’s short game.” Over the years, more than $700,000 has been raised generating a legacy of support for scholarship and training needs for the 10 NCAA-sponsored sports at CSUSB. Oak Valley Golf Club, located near the base of both the San Bernardino and San Jacinto mountains, is recognized internationally for both its aesthetic beauty and challenging terrain. It has played host to a number of PGA Tour Qualifying Tournaments along with several regional and statewide events. For more information, contact Annette Hollimon at AHollimon@csusb.edu or (909) 537-3686.
