As part of Cal State San Bernardino’s 50th Anniversary celebration, the Center for International Studies and Programs, in collaboration with the College of Extended Learning, will host a special academic symposium on international education on Friday, Dec. 4.

The symposium will focus different aspects of international education, which has long been considered an important part of higher education, which thrives when all levels of a university – students, faculty, staff and administration – participate in the infusion of international education into programs and curriculum.

The symposium will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the university’s Santos Manuel Student Union Events Center. Registration is free and lunch will be provided. Complimentary parking will be available in Lot D, accessible from University Parkway, Northpark Boulevard and Serrano Village Drive.

The keynote address on the future of international education will be given by Allan E. Goodman, president and chief executive officer of the Institute of International Education.

One of the nation’s foremost authorities, Goodman is the sixth president of the Institute of International Education, the leading not-for-profit organization in the field of international educational exchange and development training.

The symposium will feature three speaker panels discussing international education from different perspectives. The first panel will be from the perspective of U.S. scholars; the second will focus on consular representatives’ perspectives; and the third will be from the perspectives of three CSU presidents.
