In recognition of sexual assault awareness month, the Women’s Resource Center at Cal State San Bernardino will present “Take Back the Night” on Tuesday, April 26.

The free event will be held in the university’s Santos Manuel Student Union lobby from 6- 9 p.m. There will be spoken word poetry, musical performances, a self-defense workshop and resources. The public is invited to participate; daily parking is $6 per vehicle.

“Take Back the Night is a way to speak out against sexual violence and for women to reclaim the streets at night,” said Emily Erwin, professional feminist and WRC student assistant.

The performances and resources will be geared toward being an advocate against ending sexual assault.

Bands scheduled to perform include: The Groans, a Rancho Cucamonga-based group; Harriers of Discord, a Los Angeles-based band; and Miss Chief, a band based in the Inland Empire.

Vendors scheduled to appear include: CSUSB Title IX, Option House Inc., CSUSB University Police Department and local artists.

The Santos Manuel Student Union Women's Resource Center exists to provide a supportive place for all women on campus where diversity is respected and celebrated.
