Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus has announced the five recipients of the Indian Wells Rotary scholarship for the 2016-2017 academic year.
They are:
- Sergio Parra of Coachella, major: business administration – management;
- Corrina Santacruz of Indio, major: psychology;
- Soleil Loayza of Palm Springs, major: nursing;
- Kaela Annette Bonafede of Bermuda Dunes, major: psychology; and
- Angela Carmen Ochoa of Palm Springs, major: nutrition and food sciences.
- The Indian Wells Rotary established the Indian Wells Rotary scholarship in May 2016 with a generous gift of $20,000 to fund five students at a level of $4,000 each.
Recipients must be full-time students at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus and maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average or better, among other criteria.
Located in beautiful Palm Desert, the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus offers bachelor and master’s degrees, a doctorate degree in educational leadership, and teacher credentials and certificates. With more than 1,200 students, it is the only four-year public university in the Coachella Valley and plays a vital role in educating and training the region’s growing population.
