The Mountain Communities Scholarship Society reached a major milestone at its recent event, pushing its 12-year total past $1 million in scholarship funds raised to benefit Cal State San Bernardino students from the mountain communities.
More than $100,000 alone was raised at the Pinecones to Pineapples Forever event at Belle Maison, the Lake Arrowhead home Neale and Patricia Perkins, on July 30.
Fully 100 percent of the money raised by the Mountain Communities Scholarship Society – a dedicated group of friends, neighbors and business associates – goes directly to the scholarship fund. As a result of the fundraising effort that began in 2003, more than 130 students have earned scholarships to help them achieve their educational goals at CSUSB.
