About 30 students presented the results of their research during the 2016 CREST Student Research Symposium held at Cal State San Bernardino’s Chemical Science building on July 26.

Along with CSUSB students, the participants included high schoolers from the university’s Upward Bound Program and students from College of the Desert.

Each year, the National Science Foundation’s CREST (Center for Research Excellence in Science and Technology) grant, which totals more than $5 million, supports dozens of CSUSB research students and is the largest research grant ever awarded to the campus.
